I think it's more political. If it was for oil then all the west would have to do is look towards Saudi Arabia no need to invade a country and reform it's government if you're only after it's economic goods. I think it would be wonderful if the entire middle east (including Israel) could just hold hands and get along with each other. But the place is boiling over with hatred, even without western influences.
