@tropicalshark ....continued...For myself personally, when i left the Royal Marines, i chose to go back to college an then the University of Portsmouth (world renowned for its facilities and research programmes in Biology, Biomedical and marine biology...basically all Biology subjects and specialisations) as a mature student because, i wanted a career that is very stimulating, varied and deeply satisfying. I definitely have not been dissapointed.

@tropicalshark Very true. I would reccomend to anyone looking to pursue a career in Marine Biology to consider their earning potential (wether aquatic microbiology, oceanography, marine organisms and ecosystems, marine animal science, etc etc etc any specialisation). I find a lot of people come into this field because they want the best of both, an interesting career AND a great salary. Good salaries are out there but generally these do not come until later in your career.....continued....

cool vids.. i'm a marine biologist student at sarawak Uni, malaysia.. we do have a fieldtrips, but not as cool as southampton uni.. due to financial probs, our uni can't afford to use any boat to go offshore because its require a high cost.. last time, we only manage to do marine debris, which is very2 boring.. so, juz wanna tell u that u r very2 fortunate man to study marine biologist at southampton uni as it is so well-equipped..

Nice vids, I wanted to be a microbiologist but now I am more into marine biology but I heard it doesn't pays off and you end up not working in what you like.. But I still think its awesome to learn about the sea and the creatures that inhabit it, so go marine biology!
