cool the new 2010 tarus sho will have the ecoboost twin tubrocharged 3.5 v6 with 365hp and 350torque too bad it costs $37000 there will even be a track pack aviable radar cruse controal and i heard ford is working on a auto park feature like lexus
I don't think Ford would want to steal sales away from it's own company, ie, the Mustang. But to steal sales away from the Japanese imports is the whole idea. The Taurus was the best selling car from 92-96, SHO's & V8's. Gas is 2 bucks again. I much prefer the ride of a Taurus over a Camry or an Accord anyways. For pure dependability and ride comfort, no, not my Jaguar (Which I Love.)or my BMW ( Which I don't like too much anymore), my 2003 Taurus, ass doen't hurt
I also heard, the new Ford Fusion is going to recieve a direct injected TC.(slightly detuned)V6 engine! You know, those two cars are going to be "BADDAZZ"! The Suburu WRX is a very fast car...but, it always fell short with battles against the Ford Mustang Cobra and, the Chevy CamaroSS/PontiacGTO.
I understand your point...but, you gotta also review what you just typed! The SVT Focus you're talking about came out a FEW yrs. ago...so, of course, technology and, performance is kinda outdated(unless, HEAVILY modified)! I'm prettysure if, Ford produced an up to date SVT Focus that came out(let's say, last month), it'll definitely be a competitor in todays small sportscar segment(if not, one of the best). Not to worry though! The new SVT Focus will have Ford's Direct injected TC. engine!
I meant SVT as a whole....Let's say the svt focus that came out a few years ago, that was about 24k..maybe more..if you put that up against today's standards it would be the laughing stock. Look at the current Cobalt SS (turbo one not the S/C one) and the 2009 WRX..the 09 WRX just did 0-60 in 4.7seconds at Car & Driver!!!!!!!, and it handles pretty well, and the cost? 24k, SVT needs to bring the euro focus here and sell it for that price..
I agree with the other things you mentioned...but, all of that for under $25,000??? I seriously doubt that! You can't even get a top of the line T. Camry for under that much. For a SVT trimmed F. Taurus with, all the goodies...I'm thinking, in the field of between $32k-$35k!
