I had the privledge of watching Alan race short tracks in Wisconsin as a child. People talk of childhood idols in sports....well Alan is still my idol, even though my childhood has long since passed. As my children have asked, "Daddy who is that guy in the picture?" I just smile, have them sit down and tell him who Alan was as a person, and why he is still important in how I choose to live my life, with determination, honor, faith, and conviction. Alan, God bless, and may you rest in peace.

Awesome tribute, my friend! When Alan won the championship @ the Hooter's 500, I think that was the end of an era. You couldn't have wrote a better script. Irvan and Allison were in the championship hunt...Irvan wrecked and took Allison out...nobody else...just those two. Petty's last race. Jeff Gordons first. Kulwicki won the championship literally by inches...leading more laps than Elliott. If he hadn't have led the most laps...he would have lost 'cuz Elliott had more wins. Drama at it's best!

Alan Kulwicki was like NASCAR's Rocky. While not a brute like Rocky, this guy had a big heart and wanted to do things his way despite all the odds being stacked against him, and he prevailed. I wish I had been a NASCAR fan when he was around/back when NASCAR was still NASCAR not a sellout.

This is how I remember April 1st--with tears. I will always remember your racing and our meeting, Alan. You will never be forgotten.

What a great tribute to a great man.
My favorite NASCAR Winston Cup driver, and my inspiration to hopefully drive in the Sprint Cup Series.
You will be missed.

Thank you for the tribute. Alan was a true Racer that ran with the best of the best. Good Job!

didnt he have a different rear end design than everyone else? i cant remember i was about 7 also when this happened. Still have his hooters car on my dresser actually.

With that 92 title, Alan was just getting started! He would have probably received better equipment due to more money from sponsors and just knowing that HE COULD DO IT!!! He may have had 2 or 3 championships had he lasted an entire career! You may not have posted the numbers that Guys like Earnhardt Gordon and Petty have, we may admire them heavily, but Alan INSPIRED US fans much more I think!

Alan was and still is one of my favorite drivers. My connection is sort of unique.
I have been battling stage 4 colon cancer for nearly 3 years now and about 2 years ago my in laws who live in Wisconsin met a man who was Alan's uncle I believe. Anyway when he found out how big a fan of Alan I was he pulled out his wallet and gave my mother in law a trading card of Alan and made her promise she would send it to me.
wats the song playing in this video? its really good. god i love this video. he is somebody i look up to. i hope to become a nascar driver one day. just cant give up. he is my inspiration.

Fantastic job with this tribute! Davey Allison was my hometown hero but I respected Alan Kulwicki as a driver and a person very much.
The music is just perfect, btw. Who is the artist?
