it sounds bad, but a lil over 300rwhp is pretty weak for 418 stroked cubic inches

Motor still not tuned, engine is out right now, having head work and new freeze plugs put in, lost a freeze plug at 130 mph, overheated, now going through the motor and fixing everything weak. needs a smaller carb

i simply cant understand the point to throwing a stroker kit into a 302 or 351W and still making the same power as someone that matches the correct parts together in a stock displacement 302 or 351W can.... I can build a 351W bored .030 over into a 357W and make over 400 horses and torque.... a 393 stroker done right should and CAN make well over 700 horses if built right... a 347 stroker from a 302 can and has made close to 700 horses.. when the parts are matched correctly, anything is possible

@408Sleeper of course you don't take into account the transmission he is using is most likely a 30 year old C4 or C6 3 speed automatic transmission with lots of slop in the gears and no overdrive. throw in just a stock T56 6 speed and your HP loss through the drive train will shrink immensely.
