After the arrow keys on my old Apple Keyboard stopped working, I bought one with no spare USB ports. That meant plugging my mouse and keyboard into my macbook, leaving no ports free. I decided to extract the USB Hub from the Keyboard to give it a second life.

  • you could have just bought a usb hub on ebay. They normally sell for 1pence and something like £6 postage. If you are in Japan it would be dirt cheap to have it sent through too, and it would look a lot tidier than the box. Attaching that USB underneath the new keyboard could have looked nice too instead of putting it in the cardboard box!

    good call on reusing the parts though

  • Three more inventions like that and your desktop will looks like a spider web, cables everywhere! I have that same KB, but I have an project assigning keys to make a custom keyboard. I hope it works for me. have a nice invention. :)
