My first crude pulse motor using the homopolar idea. This led to a Newman motor project and then to a sucessful Bedini SSG motor.

  • Sorry about the poor quality video. I was using a very old camera. Yes this is an electric motor that was invented by Michael Faraday in 1831. It uses the "Lorentz effect". A current passing through the suspended magnet causes it to rotate. When it slows down the wobbling top effect causes it to pick up energy and spin up again. It will run for a couple of hours on a 1.5 volt AA battery.

  • Would love to see a new video on this motor with your newer cam.

  • Very strange. Too bad the video quality is so poor. Is it really a motor? How does it work? How long does it run?
