Giuseppe Danise (1883-1963) was a great baritone who sang at the Metropolitan Opera for quite some time in the 1920's. Later he became a voice teacher with a reputation of being very strict and not very encouraging. My godmother Maria Cleva studied with him.

This is one of the best renditions of Rigoletto's aria I have ever heard!

  • stupendo!! Grande lezione di canto.

  • A heavy baritone with an incredibly polished top. You don't hear that every day. Or every century, for that matter.

  • an excellent job, far far superior to his Largo or Prologue. Nicely done sir, and thanks

  • One of the best ever

  • Sagalt :

You couldn't have said it better : "THE BOMB". Never heard about Danise. Where does "primobaritono" find all these incredible treasures ?

Primobaritono : Big "Thank You" from all of us !!

  • Huge performance that defies antiquated recording technique. You're right...It's THE BOMB!
