The reason inline skates have three or more wheels is not just to fill the space between the front and back wheels. Three or more wheels makes a huge difference for street/offroad skating. Remove the middle wheels from your skates and see how it feels. I have an example of a real off-road skate should look like, with a detailed explanation about inline skates on my picture page (flickr.com/photos/27532210@N04/). They are for my own personal use, not for sale. But maybe someday...
@pqxxedf I appreciate your comment very much. I still hesitated about buying them for several reasons. One is that very same thing that you have explained as I already thought about it myself.
Because of the opposite comments about the landrollers I really would like to test them and have my own opinion. I would like to know if them would serve my main purpose, long rides over asphalt. But it's too much money in something I have to buy from the other side of the planet just for a test.
@crim3cost I have put thousands of hours of thought into inline skating stuff. Landrollers have big wheels. That's good. Landrollers have only two wheels. That's bad. There is a very good reason that inline skates have three or more wheels. So that you don't drop into every crack and hole on the sidewalk and in the street. Having only two wheels defeats the purpose of having big wheels. A big front wheel with small trailing wheels is better for the purpose of off-road inline skating.
I just ordered mine. I really hope that the fit is right and that they work as well as promised. In talking to other owners I heard that they run about a half size too short. So I ordered a size up. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!
The most amazing is seeing everywhere how people who haven't tried the landrollers tries to persuade people who *already have them and like them* that their are not good skates. This is world upside down.
Hey little man, when I see these skates being used in race competitions and winning, and not by some ignorant 17 year old uninformed consumer at Huntington Beach like yourself, I might start believing in them. But for an ice speed skating champion to endorse this poorly designed recreational toy is ridiculous.
@dvdfrnzwbr you must be fat cause you said 220lb rider weight limit, thats fat for a skater. stop your crap! you know they are amazing and apolo would not endorses Landrollers if he didnt like them, your retarted, get a life
im 17 and they do work just like he says, everyone that i have talked to wants a pair, and i can go over anything, and as for the axils breaking, thats crap and you know it, they run better than any skate ever made, and like he said they look sick. you are just mad cause you dont own a pair, or you cant skate yourself, get a life and buy a pair before you start that crap cause they are like $200, they run just like they should, like a champ, just like apolo.

He's so full of shit. No inline skate racer uses these gimik skates in races or have any respect for them. They are slow and compared to skating in mud. The design is wrong and bearings were not ment to run on their sides. The company even says that they are a fitness skate, because they are so dangerously designed and prone to malfunction with axil screws comming out or axils breaking that they tell you not to go fast.
