I had never heard of the Carpenters before this commercial. Sounded good, so I ordered it. I've been a die hard fan ever since.

I, too, was introduced to the Carpenters by a commercial, but it wasn't this one. I believe it was for a greatest hits collection in the 1990's. Something about it just appealed to me from the get-go. I've loved the Carpenters ever since!

Just discovered this channel and am grateful. Been a fan since Close to You came out in 1970 and have all their original albums and many 45's. They are treasures and have been listened to many times over the years. Glad to see such longtime fans still yearning to hear Karen's voice. My friends used to make fun of me for liking the Carpenters but their music kept me sane through some tough times. Thanks for all the videos and info you have posted

I had the CD. Maybe the Greatest Hits or Best of. I still know them all though. "Yesterday Once More" and "Sing a Song" (released at just the same time) was their career peak. Used to play "Rainy Days and Mondays" in the school band. My first "Krush" the A-Makin', Flute-Playin', cheerleadin', long-haired, girl with white panties and a mini-skirt and an IQ of at least 190 who usually right across from the band director from me ... played the piano, Dang! That! was a nice change of scenery! d:)

I was eight years old, in 1985. I like their music, and when I am upset or have a lot on my mind, I listen to Carpenters. The music, relaxes you especially Karen's angelic voice, and it will never be forgotten.

Thanks for posting. If I'm not mistaken, this is the cm I saw while I passed the time watching MTV and suddenly made me sit up and stare at it. I wanted to record this ad but couldn't back then. It really takes me back then and there. Thanks again.
