  • "There r blk ppl who got out through study"-Thats not what the movies about. Y would u expect it 2 touch on that subject. Its undrstndable that it made u feel uncmfrtable b/c of the contrast shown btwn blks in the prjects and ultra rich whts. But thats the realty of Ohers story. It isnt racism. Yes there r educated blks but thats not what the storys about. It isnt their job to cater to blks who r sensitive to images of blk poverty. Wht ppl arent racist just b/c they watch a movie that shows that

  • I never said and never thought that white people were racist for watching that movie. I 'm sensitive toward stories of black poverty because I grew up in it, so you are right. Oher's story is inspirational , but there should be more media examples of blacks using their intelligence to better themselves, not just sports. There are those stories out there, but they don't get as much coverage. If non-black people only see black people suceeeding through sports, you don't think it has an effect?

  • i see your point but its a true story so its not really up to them as to what happens. And obviously it would be VERY racist if they made a film with hollywood actors about a black man who studies and gets a job... as if it is an uncommon rarity lol

  • This flim is great because it tells about growin up in the hood , telling people that living in the hood isnt a choice ,

Like david at the end of the movie it tells about him getn killed

U could tell he was depressed with his life in the hood

  • "N"

  • I respect your review. Yet i have to disagree.

Now, if the blind side as script by hollywood, i would've had similar feelings as you did. Yet, what happened in the movie actually happened in real life. In stead of saying that this movie should have showed what respectable black people can accomplish (i praise you for your accomplishments as well :] ) i think that job is left for other hollywood films.

  • I think this is a very fair review, Charlieblaze. I was swept over with emotions (that's just me) right after I saw it, but I then calmed down a bit to look at it more rationally to see what most of the critics were saying. I agree with some of it, no doubt, but I think what really moved me the most was to see us white Southerners not portrayed in such a negative light. It's done (still) far too often I think. Some of it is absolutely called for and spot-on, but some of it is not.

  • I thought one of the good things about the movie was it showed that not all black people in the"hood" are bad. I knew that already but, I thought it was a good message. Michael Oher was a good person in a bad situation.

  • This is one of those situations where, if you aren't white, you know and get exactly where charlieblaze is going long before he gets there. And, it seems, if you ARE white, you get all touchy and defensive, using outliers and anecdotal anomolies to justify your point. If anything, this guy is being TOO tactful and TOO respectful--every word he says is true, about the movie and about the way it is.

  • if any of you saw 20/20,then you know how this film was done. the director did it on his own. he wrote the script.he lived with the family for years and it took years to put this great film together.

  • What color is the president? What color was the secretary of state in the last administration? I understand what your saying, but as everyday passes top positions that have nothing to do with sports are being occupied by people are not white.

  • who gives a shit..

    the movie was great.
