If you believe in Affirmative Action then 65% of every basketball team should be Caucasian, and they should play whether they're any good or not!

"Birth right?" Birth right!? Entitlement much?

What unbridled madness you spout. This is why we have come against those kind of thoughts en masse and driven them into the realm of nonsense where they belong. We are not equal under the law. Perhaps in the bright future, where such benighted text never occurs, but not now. Affirmative action seeks to redress social ills, not rob anyone of anything. If you can't understand that, then you deserve to fail.

The word "progressive" is constantly abused by many. Can someone be progressive if they happen to disagree with you?

Let me pose a question to you directly from my Black friends: They strongly feel that affirmative action is demeaning to them and don't want to be treated under some sort of special category. So I have little doubt they would say to you, "Why do you support policies that continue to portray us as victims?"

I'll agree w/ u that the PV Mentality is fueled by white Democrats and certain black leaders. However, I submit to u that white conservatives are the most responsible for such a paradigm to exist. The good old boy mentality is synonymous w/ a status quo that has traditionally excluded people of color from the upper echelons of society. The backbone of the conservative agenda is that status quo or tradition.

Capitalism may be the best system in the world, but still flawed in application.

Please do test your own thesis: How is it that Asians and even many Latinos have succeeded so very well in America without controlling the institutions of power you spoke of?

As for me, there is zero Superiority Mentality in my mind, heart, or soul. I simply don't believe that telling a young boy or girl (of any color) that they have less ability or opportunity than anyone else is a formula for success.

Asians have a work ethic that's far superior than western culture. Successful Latinos, yes, but many of them experience the same PV Mentality that African Americans suffer.

In regard to your second viewpoint, who exactly is telling these kids that they have less ability or opportunity? Is it the parents or is it Madison Aveune? I think its a combination of both with more influence by the latter. Madison Avenue has always been controlled by a conservative agenda, something to think about.

You have a worldview full of generalizations that I'm never going to dissuade you of, no matter if I spent the next 10 years on here. So we'll just have to agree to disagree.

But as someone who has HUNDREDS of Asian friends, I hope you understand that your initial statement is very racist. You might describe it as "positive racism", but you are still attributing all members of a group with a shared trait.

And trust me, there are some very lazy Asian people too ... for some are my friends!

My viewpoint on Asians is not racist at all. It's been proven that they tend to be more aggressive in learning from infancy to adulthood than western society. That's not a racist statement, but a compliment of respect.

You're correct to say that we just have to agree to disagree on different worldviews of debate. However, I find it sad and suspicious that your not willing to speak formerly about the role of conservativism. Judging by your responses, a conservative is exactly who u are.

This will be the last time I'll continue this "debate" with you because I simply don't have any more time to devote to it.

It is ABSOLUTELY racist to assign a given trait to all members of a racial group. You can pretend that your views towards Asians isn't racist but it is, even if we agree it is complimentary.

I agree I'm a conservative. Thank you.
