Trading on Betfair - Low risk "painless" trading

In this example we use a small stake of £50 to do some low risk trading. As you can see it's not that tough and we turn a 4.6% profit on that stake fully greened up so we win however wins the race. There are around 8000 meetings a year so even with a stake of just £50 you can achieve some decent results over the year if you are disciplined enough.

what does 'tick size £1 mean' ? and whats a tick? is it the next box along? so 2.3 box to 2.2 box will be 1 'tick' ?

@MrJohnMortimer - It would be a remarkable market that offered you only the chance to win and not lose! It's all a numbers game at the end of the day so you have to ensure you don't let your losses spiral out of control. Keep them controlled an in proportion to your wins and you will end up ahead. Even a novice can achieve suprising results even if they just do basic things.

What he's forgetting to say here is, your lay bet could get taken first, and the back bet not at all...which results in you on...the wrong side!! Losing!!
