Group sings "Maria" to Maria, the Echo Park Lake Goose

This morning, I read in the Wall Street Journal about a goose named Maria, and the man, Dominic, who had bonded with the friendly (fearless) goose. They walk together, Maria follows his every move, and when he gets on his scooter, she flies alongside. I read that there was a "meetup" this morning at 9 a.m. to walk with Dominic and Maria, and there were plans to sing the West Side Story "Maria," to the bird, as a group.

Who could resist?

I went, and was enormously touched, and amused.

So glad to hear maria/mario is safe in his new home at the zoo. Dominic recently broke his leg and we all wish him well. Hope he gets up and around to see maria soon. She is going to miss him
