Russell Mitchell singles during a September 2 California League game between the Inland Empire 66ers and the Lake Elsinore Storm. The first baseman was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 15th round of the 2003 First-Year Player Draft out of Cartersville High School in Georgia. Mitchell batted .270/.324/.488 with 22 round-trippers and 82 RBIs with advanced Single-A Inland Empire in 2007. The 6-foot-1, 182 pound infielder got an invite to Hawai'i Winter Baseball where he batted .270/.328/.450 with three dingers and 19 RBIs in 111 at-bats with the West Oahu CaneFires.
