  • Also wow at the fact that Howard misses one diving catch and then corrects that "mistake" later in the game.

  • "You know I'm bad, I'm bad" Haha, 90's were great.

    Go Blue!

  • Sick intro. Good game to watch. Go BLUE!

  • Gary Moeller was ballsy at the perfect times. That's why he was a great coach, making calls like the reverse to Howard, and the 4th and 1 bomb when ND had an all out blitz called, both calls leading to touchdowns. Man I miss those days, GO BLUE!

  • Some great moments in the rivalry in this game. Even though I'm a Notre Dame fan, I enjoy your videos. Lots of great football.

  • @ 0:21 not bad (for a not a once a year game).

  • The musical influences of the '80s still hadn't vanished in 1991, as demonstrated by the pregame vid.

Mostly a 4-3. It was primarily a run-stopping defense, though we did produce several outstanding defensive backs. Remember, though, that this was before a few Big Ten teams (Purdue, Northwestern, etc.) started recruiting fast buggers and using the spread. This was also before the "SEC speed" meme came prominently into play. The offensive revolution needs a defensive revolution to counter it, so this defense today is outdated, unfortunately.
