This is my Chromatone keyboard-- I discovered it while I was studying abroad in Japan, and I liked the concept so much that I bought one. The basic idea is that the notes are a spaced equally, like a guitar fretboard, so that you can transpose to any key with the same fingering. It's actually lot less complicated than it looks, and I think it makes more sense than the traditional layout.
The original keyboard was designed by a man named Paul von Janko in the late 19th century. For more information:
If there's interest, I'll post more videos once I get better at playing it. Also if anyone knows how to raise the volume of this movie without having it clip, please tell me.

Man that's groovin, your solo is as tasty as any I've heard. I was really into the Janko keyboard layout for a while and almost made my own before I found the wicki/hayden layout which I really dig, on which I'm gaining proficiency by way of modification of an Axis-49, a C-thru Music keyboard model. It'd be nice if isomorphic instruments got the attention they deserve; hopefully videos like this will do just that. Keep playing my man =)
no... never tried it... i took piano lessons for several years growing up... so there is no learning involved. But u know i cant say anything about this thingy cause I've tried it. not like it matters. The Corps doesn't give me much time to learn anyways
