Watch as a squirrel enters a live animal cage and is caught. Rare footage shows just how they act just prior to entering a trap.

  • Mostly to show it could be done. Many people don't think you can get them to enter a trap. By showing they can be live trapped more people will give this form of control consideration. Typically people will just shoot them or use kill traps. But live trapping is an option and once caught, animals can be relocated to live another day.

  • What do you do with squirrels then trapped?

  • Release them elsewhere. See our other video where we let it go. Search using "squirel removal" (only use 1 r) and the first video will be ours where we set it free.

  • A lot of patience was needed to get catch the animal as it entered. But on that day, I noticed it in the yard and was fortunate enough to have my camera ready to roll. And use Pecan Paste with some bird seed. It smells strong and will attract them from afar. You can get it from the website in the video. The best trap is the LT5518RD they have listed for squirrels. The trap is spring loaded and has a rear door for easy baiting and easy animal release. Good luck!

  • OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!! I would relocate the vermin to the jaws of my German Sheppard.

  • I catch my squirrels like you do, I put the foot behind the spring latch. Some people want the squirrle eating off of it but if the squirrel gets on the latch, chances are better and they get caught quicker. I have caught 3 in less than a day. They love my tomatoes in my garden. They are getting relocated. I hope it doesn't kill young if they are in the nest.

  • Send it here, i want a pet squirrel

  • @fuzzysquirrelsnuts These things are rats with fluffy tails. I live in Illinois and have traps at my house to kill these things cause my neighbor has been feeding them (which is illegal) and they are now getting in my landscaping and on my roof. Anyone with states where it is "illegal" to kill these rodents should have to pick up the tab for the damage they do then.

  • just shot them if you see them its easyer

but it is fun to trap them

  • I have tried rat traps many times, they absolutely do not work on squirrels. The trap will either be empty or the bait will be gone without the trap even being set off. I don't know if they are too smart for it or if it just doesn't hit them right, they just don't work.

  • look how he went Phsyco when the door shut.

  • great footage! what bait was used for this?

  • I caught Squirrels, Woodchucks, Skunks, & other critters by just using peanuts. I now even have a fox comming in my yard & eating peanuts. It's just to big to fit in my live trap. It's also illegal to kill squirrels in some states.

  • Do not TRAP....unless you want fleas. Shoot them & let the night creatures feed

  • well isn't like he didn't get any food out of it
