One day my internet connection decided to falter when I was trying to fill a server, and I had previously had people complain about me lagging (well, lagging in general) because it was "easy mode" because of the hit detection (hitscan)... Well, it's a lot harder to play with lag than it is without it, and this (somewhat comical) video helps show that...
*NOTE: The weird smooth motions in the video is Valve's demo file's compensating for the lack of data (lag, which normally keeps you from moving in-game, according to the lagger's perspective)... Another thing is the blurred box to the left, that's blocking the admin chat. Also, count how many times I "disconnect" and it says ARENA MODE on the HUD. XD
Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe demo files use the SourceTV setup, which doesn't use lag compensation, meaning that at even at 100 ping everything would be displaced by .2 seconds (because of interpolation). It's probably not as bad as it looks.
