In this video I describe how I am going to mount the 12 MOSFET to the heat-sink and how it mounts to the Hammond 1455N1601 aluminum box. I purchased some 3' lengths 1" angle and 3/4" flat bar aluminum 1/8" thick at Home Depot. You can also get this material at Canadian Tire (It's two buck cheaper there). Certain holes are tapped and others are over sized. Home Depot no longer sells separate taps so I purchased a tap at Canadian Tire. They had a nice selection and most importantly a # 4-40 NC. I used standard 4-40 bolts also available in small packs from a hardware store. The MOSFET's will be held against the 1" angle by a bar of aluminum and 7 screws. Mica insulators fit between the two screw holes and 2 TO-220 MOSFET's fit between each pair of screws. The second flat bar is to allow the heat to be transfered from the angle material to the case.

  • @H2O2FromH20 Rightly so. Thanks

  • I know you already know this, So for the Viewer, Don't forget to use heat sink compound between each mechanical interface, and since the Case wall is corrugated there's about a 50% blockage in the heat path, Defiantly will need it there.
