@gonetoworkbbackin5mi There is a crew on the second set of helpers. If any of the units has a malfuction, it will shut itself down, and an alarm will go off alerting the crew. If you look at one of my other videos, "Soldier Summit, 36000hp+, you will see a crew member walking down the second unit. He must be getting ready to check something out...

Why not just make it 2 trains

Because once they get this train over the mountain, they can take the middle six units out, and the train can then make the rest of the trip to its final destination with just 6 units, and one crew. This saves the railroad the fuel, ware and tare of six more units, and the cost of a crew for that trip. Thanks for looking. Jackmp294
