I'd guess you wouldn't hit an engine because you'd also get a hot shock like a few kids did at the Talyllyn Railway with Sir Handel in 1984 XD

@cyril227ify Thanks for explaining.
You've obviously looked after it pretty well as I've had numerous stereo systems since the 90s. Had to replace my existing one earlier in the year because the tape deck stopped working properly. I brought a second hand one at a car boot sale and it works perfectly but when I previously brought the same type as new about 7 years back , it only lasted a couple of months.

It hasn't been that well looked after. Although for the past 10 years it hasn't been used that much, it used to licve in the sitting room, but that was a nuisence as if you had the stereo on you could have the TV on, so abviously that was why it wasn't used much! Recently it has been put into semi-retirement, which means being put on top of the very old tv in my moms wardrobe! It only comes out when i use it to listen to my thomas cassettes/records!

Interesting stereo system you have there. Did you purchase it from new or did you get it second hand?
I still have a stereo with a tape deck included and I still use it. However mine has CD style buttons to control it rather than keys

My parents bought it brand new in the 1990s sometime. It is fantastic, great sound quality! That is out most modern stereo! It is treally good as it has all formats, record cassette and CD, which we don't use that much! LOL!
