Just a test of using the control voltage pitch out of my Paia Theremax theremin into Cycling74's Max/MSP through a Make controller. This was just to test how Max and the Make controller work with the CV out of the Theremax. Lots more work to do on this theremin project.

The pitch CV controls the pitch shifting of the cherokee audio file that comes with Max. An offscreen light sensor controls the volume of the sampled track, but isn't used here.

Not very musical, but so far a technical success in getting the hardware to all work together.

Sorry for the crappy video framerate, I shot this with my celphone.

  • Haha, is it sad that I recognise the sample from Max MSP's tutorial/demonstration patches?

(P.S. I'm hoping to get another video of my robot done soon. No promises though)

  • Definitely a creative use of a theremin. Good stuff!
