In 2007 I had a little cousin that was born with DS. And his mother Birthday is also February 8,1987.

My advise...be your granddaughter's biggest advocate,no one will fight harder for her then you.Get involved with your local DS Association they can point you in the right direction.Talk to other parents and grandparents who have children with DS they can tell you what worked for them. You will find there is a lot of help and support when you get to know these families.Research your doctors(state board of medicine)interview them.Nobody will know your child better then you, trust your instinct.

A truly touching video ~ thank you for sharing it. My daughter is 22 (first baby)and due soon, we found out a few weeks ago that she will be born with DS and AV heart defect. I am trying to learn all that I can.
Any advice? Thank you!

I saw this for the 1st time this evening and just thought it was wonderful! What a lucky family to have such an angel and I am willing to bet Gage's big brother is pretty awesome as well!

My son's name is also Gage and he also has DS! Your little guy is gorgeous! Your story was touching and beautiful!

Gage is one courageous boy. It's truly amazing how a small baby can endure and overcome such intensive health complications and surgeries. The strength babies have is tremendous! To Gage and his family, it only gets better from here! You will live a life of dignity and happiness! God Bless!

I have a 41 year old brother with Down's. He holds down a job, and lives on his own..he's doing great! I can tell you from my own experience, that your son will bring you more joy than you can ever imagine! God bless you and your family!!!!!!!!!!!!

what a cute little baby. Even cuter when he wears his glasses... they look so adorable on him. Does he keep them on all the time or does he like to take them off?

No, he's always pulling them off! Hopefully we can get him to leave them alone soon...he sees so much better when he has them on :-)
