Kate definitely should have won! Her performance has gone down as one of the greatest of ALL TIME! Compare that to Swank's performance in Million Dollar Baby which has been forgotten. I wonder if the Academy would vote differently if they had to vote now for their winner. It sometimes takes time and hindsight to appreciate which performance was truly the greatest.

Kate def deserved it for ESOTSM, but I thought her not winning for Sense & Sensibility nor Hamlet was complete BS. Also Little Children. Doesn't really matter though, we all know who the greatest actor of our time is...She doesn't need award to prove it to anyone.

I agree that Kate deserved it, but so did Hilary Swank she was phenomenal in Million Dollar Baby.

I'm glad Kate finally got her Oscar. I think she should have received it for this role as well, though. She was phenomenal in Eternal Sunshine. Such a flamboyant character, Clementine.

unbelievable... kate winslet should have won this. she deserved it so much.. omg. if you seen all her movies, she is remarkable and amazing. she moves with versatility and genuine passion. what she had done in eternal sunshine isn't easy to do, and yet she had done it wonderfully. omg I can't believe she didn't win again this time. she deserves it and not only in the reader. Oscars is disapointing..

I think Hilary deserved her first Oscar for Boys Don't Cry but in Million Dollar Baby she was good but I wouldn't say Oscar worthy. I think Winslet's performance was more inspired, complex and original.
