I wish the soloist hadn't felt the need to talk over the whole number - real self-indulgence and did not contribute at all to the song.

That doesn't mean the choral director can't take some artistic license with the piece, and drop it down to a key that suits his choir's skills, abilities, and makeup. If he had a smaller soprano section, for instance, it might have worked better at that key.

Not the best imo. The rapper wasn't that good, and it needed to be sung about a key or two lower. The Sopranos drowned out the choir in a couple spots because of that, and even the soloist had trouble reaching a note once.
