OK. I'm an Australian and there's somethings you should know:
1) It is just a Koala. Not Koala bear.
2) It is not barking at all. It is grunting. It is a mating call I think.
So please change the title to Koala mating call

haha ive been hearing this exact sound around my neighborhood and never knew what it was i thought it was a wild hog or something haha but yeh i kinda thought it was a koala they sound so bloody scary!!

Augh, come one guys. Everybody knows they're not bears. It's just the name they have because they -look- like bears. People everywhere used to call them koala bears, like people used to always say killer whales instead of orcas.
Orcas aren't whales either, but there's no need to get up and stomp around so much about a damn name.

I was out camping in the bush in Australia, pitch black night, and heard this right outside my one man tent. Freaked me out a bit! -until I found out later what it was from looking (and listening) on the internet.
