I would have gotten up to hug this new brother of ours. Allah swt celebrates these moments when his lost creation reverts to Him. It would be proper for all brothers present at the occasion to embrace the new member of the Deen and welcome him. AllahoAkbar ! My prayers are for my new brother.

I know, I also think they should have hugged him. It would make him feel welcome. And the Imams should make it shorter for the newcomers instead of making them recite the difficult Ayah in the beginning already.

You really dont know that jesus never met paul? paul was a bounty hunter of christians, this was long after death of jesus and paul used to hunt christians to collect bounty. It was on the way to jerusalem that he had a vision of jesus (Paul claims it), but the desciples of jesus did not trust him until Barnabas called him back. Since then Paul started working for the control of Christians. This what the bible Scholars say or please google it
