Recorded as the "Mississippi Swampers" (Fahey & Firk) June 15, 1962.

This video is both songs back to back as intended. Cracking tunes, and have probably been reincarnated in later works!

  • I've enjoyed playing Fahey tunes for years but hadn't heard these Fonetone recordings you posted. I play Some Summer Day but never even knew it had words!.

Thanks so much or these posts!

  • john fahey is almost certainly the most soulful and creative guitar player to put fingers to strings

  • Thanks for these.

  • Raw sweetness, beauty and emotional playing - all great Fahey qualities. With Mike Stewart if not mistaken.
