Never mind the whiney, left-wing tree-hugger below..... You did a wonderful job. The video is a great tutorial and easy to follow, your dog looks to be in no discomfort despite what the peta lunatic fringe would have us believe. Being internet warriors must make them feel like heroes for the cause. Instead of spending endless hours hacking on loving and responsible K9 owners; shouldn't they have their fingers stretched around some bark, and screaming in the woods? THUMBS UP to the video owner.

So disappointing that this practice is continued just for the vanity of the owner. Here's an idea: Leave your dog's ears the way they are, instead of subjecting them to weeks of pain and discomfort and the risk of infection and serious injury. If having a dog with normal ears doesn't make you feel like a man, go see a shrink. Mutilating dogs makes you a sheep, not a man.

How long do u leave the tape on the dog

very good details. my Dogo's one ear just folds on top of his hear from the upper half while the other stands up fine. i will use this method hopefully it will correct it. it looke like the cartlidge needs to get stronger because it was fine about a week ago, it just started to happen. thanks

Great info Anthony! Thanks for the help... My girls wounds are still healing so i'm glad I saw this so I know to stop taping them up. Theyre not scabbing and healing really fast, but I'll wait a couple more weeks to do this I guess. LMAO at all the comments.. Ya it's a little uncomfortable for the dog.. get over it.

@thehomefront... cancer? That's the best u could come up with? Ur little nerdy, tree huggin, virgin ass had all the time u needed to express what a cry baby u r, and that's what u went with? Wow ur sooo brutal! And disfigure his face? Now we r scared. Hey don't crop ur dogs ears or u will have to answer to this guy!! Hahahahaha

lo li bet this dog doesnt know he has tapons in his ear ....

I don't have a problem with the method of your taping but with the handling of the dogs ears. His ears are swollen from the way you handle him. This will his ears to take longer to heal and stand properly. Best age is 9-12 weeks.
Great info.. My quiestion is, my dog was croped at 1 1/4 and the tube is longer. should i cut ithe tub shorter or is it ok leaving it stick out?

The tube only acts as a splint and gives support and shape so yes, leaving it stuck out is fine.

are yo strethcing its ears or what....

Yes I stretch the ears to fit firmly on the splint. By doing so, the cartilage is being pulled straight and held straight during the structured process.

like how long do you have to do this procedure? by the way thank for the info..nice dog:)

How long the process depends on the dog. You will train the ear until it stands firmly upright. The shorter the ears the less time usually. Wrapping needs to be taken off and ear aired out every 2-3 days. Air out the ear for a full day and then wrap again the following day if needed.
