  • an unusal beauty when young. when her husband died she apears to be wearing a veil, was this a custom of the time. as an old lady she had great dignity. i hope her marriage was happy.

  • @johneunson Her marriage was an happy one. Willem III's first marriage with Sophie of Wurttemberg was more chaotic. But Emma was not his first choice. He had previously been rejected by her sister, Princess Pauline of Waldeck and Pyrmont, as well as Princess Thyra of Denmark.

  • Mooie video maar de muziek is op zijn best niet goed jammer.

  • @johneunson Yes indeed. As a sign of deep mourning, the widow or the orphaned daughter in European noble families are supposed to cover their heads with a thick black veil. that's what Queen Emma did when attending her much beloved late husband's funeral.

  • Queen Emma was one of the greatest of her time, so elegant and devoted to her daughter and her Kingdom.. or should I say Queendom.
