That water runs for more than 2 minutes, which is the ideal time to spend showering.

hitchcock used hershey's syrup in this scene, since it was filmed in b+w
-
it`s called "the murder"
-
It might not be "scary" as in making you jump. But is is unquestioningly horrible, as in seeing someone knifed to death before your very eyes. Terrible!!

@TJSimulation I agree, back in the 60's this was really scary, in the theatre's during this movie, some viewers experienced fainting and vomiting..this is not that scary we know today
-
épic, except the quality of this video!

What's that stabby theme song

I was watching this on TV once and my mom came up and said she wished I could go back in time and see it in 1960... BEFORE anyone knew a thing about split personalities, crossdressing, etc. Ad to that the fact that the STAR was killed less than 1/3 through the film -- un heard of -- and she said the audience FREAKED OUT!

I've learned something very important from watching this ... DAYLIGHT HOURS ONLY FILM.
-
good music
-
original, its black and white

Everything was brown on a B/W set. If anything needed painting, it got light brown or dark brown. It gave a more predictable effect on B/W film than grey paint would (plus it was cheap)
-
chocolate syrup acutally :)

When i was 6, this used to scare me. now im 12, and when i see this, i start laughing.

To do the blood scene where you see it going down the drain, they used Hersheys cocoa powder. I saw it on tv on how they did special effects on horror movies.
Hello people! This movie was made back in the 1960s. Of course it won't be scary to us now. And there isn't a lot of blood because they were more concerned about psychological thrills and tension rather than pointless bloodshed. Back in the 60s, people found this frightening. We have a different perception of what is scary now.

I've always believed music is crucial to good film and this scene proves it.
