In this second installment on Leonid's video appearances he discussed a built-in custom bench Stonebelt Cabinets is building for a Newport Beach residence. Like other green custom cabinet projects we have completed over the years, this built-in bench incorporated the use of GreenPly plywood material with no added formaldehyde, natural FSC certified hardwoods for the edge details and bead board applications, low formaldehyde and low VOC adhesives, and lastly finished using low VOC white lacquer. To further limit the use of chemicals in the final product, we found ways to use more screws and nails as fasteners and eliminate or drastically reduce the use of glue in the construction compared to the typical assembly methods.

This process and material selection is common for all of our green custom cabinetry projects and results in even greater quality in the final work with substantially lower levels of potentially harmful chemicals, particularly for customers that are especially sensitive or allergic to various compounds.
