Ubuntu Karmic 64 bit Desktop Productivity

This is a desktop video capture of my Ubuntu work system. It has Matlab and IGOR (Windows version running under WINE). The video demonstrates the nice visual effects and various productivity features (multiple desktops, etc.). In the middle, it shows how easily I can bring up a terminal connection, a file browser and VNC session to my four computers over encrypted SSH. Also show it show easy a VPN session to multiple sources is established. Of note to scientists is the applet on the bottom taskbar that allows you to add any characters for easy access when writing papers. This computer is a standard intel Core2 Duo machine that cost $500 with a $75 RAM upgrade to 8 GB.
