This is how to install iOS 5 GM onto your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. THIS DOES NOT REQUIRE A DEV ACCOUNT OR UDID.

First, you need to go here http://tinyurl.com/3vgzbqu to get the correct IPSW file for your iDevice. They come packaged in the .dmg format. To extract the IPSW, I use 7zip because it's free and does the job well. Download that here www.7zip.org
You'll find the IPSW hidden away in one of the folders. It's not too hard to find because it's the biggest file.

Once you've got that downloaded, you need to install iTunes 10.5 Beta 7 (which is available on the same page as the IPSW files).

Now you're ready, simply follow the instructions in the video. The whole process takes about 15 minutes without restoring, that all depends on how much content you have on your device.

The process is exactly the same for all devices.

Please feel free to leave comments (good and bad). I'm only human so if there is something I've missed or done wrong, please let me know.

I hope this helps.

UPDATE: I see a few of you are getting errors when doing this. My iPhone and iPad were both NOT jailbroken when I did this, my iTunes host file had NOT been altered to point at Cydia's server and it went straight through. I'm not pretending to know everything about this, but have been in the situation where iTunes throws up random errors during restores, downgrades, etc. Especially when I was jailbreaking my iDevices.

Remember the Google is your friend and someone else would have had the same problem and solved it.

If you do find a solution, post it as a comment and help everyone else out.

Thank you.
