Given that the Spanish are hurting so badly, why in the name of seven hells did they elect that arch-conservative asshole who is going to make even deeper cuts? Why, well, because they really had no choice. They were forced to choose between 2 candidates both controlled by the same masters, namely the big banks.
Just like, here in the USA, we will be forced to do the same next November, choose between Tweedledum and Tweedledumber, knowing they're both thieves and liars.
