Communities in Schools Houston is celebrating our 30th year helping to keep kids in school and learning.
Communities In Schools Houston (CIS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1979 to provide student support services to at-risk youth. With programs in 114 schools in the Houston, Spring Branch, Alief, Aldine, and Fort Bend school districts, CIS is able to touch the lives of over 37,000 students and their families annually. CIS is a campus-based, non-profit organization that works with at-risk students in grades pre-K through 12, as well as with their families and communities, to provide opportunity, hope, and change.The mission of CIS is to provide and to coordinate student assistance services at the school campus in order to best meet the physical and emotional needs of at-risk students and to empower these students to remain in school.
