Watermelons are a great Summer treat. Here is an easy way to plant your own watermelons ( or any other plant) even if you don't have an established garden yet.

  • what about drainage?

  • @popomomo12 ot a problem. We are pretty dry here in South Texas so the Drip irrigation was all it had. If it is a concern, a few strategically placed punches with a screwdriver on the bottom before cutting will take care of it.

    Thanks for commenting

  • Wow.. neat tip. I hope i remember to try this next Summer when it's time to plant mellons. Sure makes gardening look simple. Have you planted other things in the bag like this?

  • @FeliciaSmiles Yes, I have grown several different varieties this way - tomatoes, Peppers, Beans, Peas. I think most veggies would work well, but I wouldn't try it with root crops like carrots, etc due to the depth of the bag. Glad I could share a tip with someone.

  • Wow, what a great idea. We're going to try it. Thanks for the video.

  • cool ,yes sir this makes good since and you will be ahead on the cost ,,store bought is overpriced and just one melon from the bag method will pay for the cost of a bag of compost ,,
