Guillermo Tolentino's "The Oblation," him with outstretched arms as a symbol of academic freedom and selfless sacrifice for the country, is the venerable symbol of the University of the Philippines. The original statue is not the one in front of Quezon Hall, but the one stuck at the third floor of the Main Library (Gonzalez Hall) in Diliman.
