I bet people living in the early 'Concorde Era' would be shocked if they were told that in 2010, there were no supersonic airliners and the main airliners in service vary little aesthetically to the turbofan 707 or 737. Kinda sad, really.

i was visiting in a residential area close to jfk and saw it take off right above me. i thought what a nice plane it is. i'll never get to fly in it. it crashed the next day.

@barthoedemaker Seems to me, it's not even about luxury, never mind speed. The airliner companies just want to cram as many people onto each plane as possible.

I feel a shame we don't go for fast anymore these days, but for luxury.
I've never had a chance to fly on concorde.
