  • Fabulous film and soundtrack, so glad they finally released it on DVD. Blew me away when I first saw it in the early 70s.

Of course, some years earlier, Ray came in Very Drunk - even by Kink standards - and Dave pushed him down a flight of stairs in the Holiday Inn.

And let's not even start on Dave and Mick...

  • @fairportfan2 - Oh good grief! Yet, when Dave Davies had that bad stroke a few years ago, I am sure Ray was worried about it. Ray was the first boy to be born after six girls. Imagine how coddled and fussed over he was! Then one day.....this little creature showed up and spoiled the party! I guess he never got over it.

A friend was there the morning Ray stabbed Dave with his fork when Dave swiped a french fry off his plate.

1978 - my first wife and i saw the Kinks at the Fox here in Atlanta. They had Blondie and Tom Petty opening.

That was the night that a local music journo asked Ray a question, and Ray said "Excuse me a minute" and walked out. Everyone figured he was going to the little rockstars' room.

Nope. Time for the Kinks to get ready to go on - Ray's nowhere in the house.

    Told Petty to keep playing.

Finally found Ray having a cheeseburger in the greasy spoon next door.

  • @fairportfan2 - I read the Kinks biography...like "fight night" half the time!

Awwww....Peter Quaife. 'Lived here in Canada for several years, working as a graphic artist. RIP Pete.
