I think it is an old Teisco guitar, they were an old Japanese budget brand, that like all Japanese brands at that time, sounded pretty awful. For some reason the Janglyness of the Teiscos has been embraced, I actually love their tone despite it being flawed. Dylan also recorded the ethereal guitar parts of the Oh Mercy album on a similar model Teisco - see "Most of The Time".

Conor's playing a late-60's TEISCO Surf. That's the closest model I could find, I think his is even older than that though
