Wow... ONLY sixth...?! This was lovely to watch, clean, precise, some inventive lifts. I like how one of the commentators talks about the Russian work ethic in figure skating. I find it is especially noticeable in ballet, gymnastics and the classical music worlds too. (btw: I am British!)

They were the third (!) russian team. There was no way two russian couples would be allowed to stay on the podium.

I generally agree with your placements,however I'm not sure about Shen&Zhao beating Sale&Pelletier in the short program. Shen Zhao had an improper takeoff on the throw (he took both his feet off the ice while throwing her and exited the move on both feet), sbs triple toes- a bit sloppy, a mistake on sbs spins ,too many unison breaks in the program. However I liked Chinese' choreography better than Canadians' it had more close holds and lacked endless posing of Sale&Pelletier.

Wow that is where I had them to. They were totally robbed. This is how I judged the top 8:

Gold- Berezhnaya/Sikharulidze 1st short, 1st long

Silver- Sale/Pelletier 3rd short, 2nd long

Bronze- Petrova/Tikhonov 4th short, 3rd long

4th- Shen/Zhou 2nd short, 4th long

5th- Totmianina/Marinin 5th short, 5th long

6th- Ina/Zimmerman 7th short, 6th long

7th-Czechs 6th short, 7th long

8th- anyone but the Poles who skated like crap and didnt even deserve top 10
