for some reason when i mix magnisium and kno3 together and light it nothing burns or happens..

hey... have you tried with fe-mg (firesteel) powder.. i just use matchpowder.. its really powerful and bright! kno3 makes alot of gasses.. but fe-mg/matchpowder 1:1 is really fast and really bright q: also.. have you tried using 2:1 armstrongs mix? you know you just mix armstrongs mix 1:1 ratio normally.. with matchpowder.. 2:1 it makes a pop in TINY amounts.. alot more powerful than 1:1 and you get more from less matchboxes q:

dissolve it in water pour the liquid in a container but don't pour out whatever is on the bottom (throw that away). Then let the liquid sit until the water evaporates. You'll be left with crystals of kno3

I used 200 mesh MG plus KNO3 from a science supply place in a 50:50 ratio. Burns really fast and super bright. Ignites well with visco fuse.
