Three of my Hung Ching students competed at the Wong Fei Hung Tournament. Senior disciple Elton Cohn took 1st place Gold Medal heavyweight Chi Sao division, Intermediate student Ryan Prezioso took 1st place Gold Medal lightweight Chi Sao, and Senior disciple Jack Mazzola won his first match which was said to be the most exciting one of the day then was disqualified for excessive contact in the second.
This video is of first year student Ryan Prezioso, and chi sao on the platform.

Ryan didn't kick anything, he used shoulder and way too much strength! Who ever taught him needs to kick him out of his school, what a bad example of chi Sao! You're suppose to use sensitivity and soft movements, not try to over power people, idiots!

It's a fact - between 2 equally skilled opponents, the one that weighs more will likely win, yes. All that means is the smaller guy has to train harder to acquire more skill. I'm 6'6'' and experienced in Judo and wrestling - my sensei and coach were both between 5'5'' and 5'7'' and would routinely wipe the floor with me.

i dont get why people have cs competition and allow so much pushing. if one guy is bigger/stronger then duh they will most likely win. ill be impressed with these things when i see a smaller guy win.

don't like it. its too lopsided. Still, it is wc and incorporates the wc principles. Props to the winner. he was the better of the two--- way better.

Unfortunately, martial arts tournaments have rules, one of them was no "sharp shooting", which means, palm striking or slapping to show you have broken the opponents bridge, passed the gates and created your own bridge, was required to win. I just had to clear that up with all the grand masters talking, even though my ears hear more than my eyes see.

it was a shoving match. the tattoo guy is just shoving him around which itself is not the point of chi sau, which is to keep the bridge(aka sticking), control, position, hit. shame on the white shirt guy for his shitty stance tho. technique vs. brute force. but then again every school has their way of doing their chi-sau.

Wow what an unimportant exercise problem is when your enemy doesn't play the same game you do and you don't see his hands just feel his fist hitting your face.
