1st go on a banjo Dixie

Ive been interested in learning how to play banjo for quite some time. I love the sound of them
If anybody has good advice for me, the comment box is below! Is it easier or harder to play than the guitar?

just google banjo vs guitar... a lot of people say its nothing more than a different twist on guitar
