Classic Army CA36K / G36K, Which I custom Painted Tiger stripe Camouflage

________________________________________

The way I got the stripes the way they are were by using a hand-cut stencil that I made myself. Here's a scanned copy of my stencil, you can print this out, tape it on some sort of tough paper (I used a filing cabinet folder) and use an exacto blade to trace over and cut.

Now to the painting, I used OD green, khaki, and brown(All KRYLON brand). Once you made the stencil, start from the stock, and work your way up to the barrel.
For example, place the stencil on the stock(Make sure you place the stencil SLANTED and not vertically), and spray OD green(Make sure not to over-spray). After a few minutes, place the stencil back on slowly. Make sure the stencil is SLIGHTLY "overlapping" the OD green stripes. Spray on some brown, and the result should be a green and brown stripe, with the brown stripe overlapping the od green stripe by maybe a quarter inch. Then do the same exact thing with the OD green overlapping the brown. Its very hard to explain but I hope you get what I mean.
So after you've sprayed the whole gun with OD green and brown, its time for some khaki. You will not use khaki as much as the other colors. For this, you will spray some khaki in various parts of the gun(Pay very close attention to the khaki color on the G36K I painted, and try to replicate the amount of khaki). Do not spray too much khaki, or it won't looks too good. Just spray some, step back, look at your rifle, and add khaki to the "empty" spots.

Good luck hope this helps!!

  • Does anybody know if the handle/scope on the gun is detachable? I don't want to disassemble my gun without knowing what to do next.

  • Yes you can detach the carry handle. There's two screws on the back of the carry handle(Right under where the scope is, I believe on the left side of the gun) And one screw located in the front(Same side). Unscrew them and slide the carry handle off !

  • nice paint, i plan to paint mine as well. jus real quick, do the screws by the top remove the top handle assembly ?

  • Yea there's 3 screws that need to be unscrewed to detach the carry handle.

There's two screws RIGHT under the scope on each side(Impossible to miss). Then the last is above the handguard(Looks exactly like the other two screws) From there just slide it off.

  • What color of a base coat did you use?

  • Khaki
