Testing Ear Candles Hoax or Reality

I don't see why people are so defensive about this ear candling shit. It comes from the same line of thinking as the whole colon cleanse, that the holes in your body MUST be dirty. Ears and colons don't need cleaning unless you have some kind of health problem. When did he it become so hard to convince people not to stick hoses up their asses or put hot wax near their ears?

@catmom1975 But I agree that it doesn't work.

You didn't even show what happened when you put it in an ear, so we could see if there was any difference. As far as we know, there could be something totally different in the candle when you do ear candleing. A scientific test has to have a control test like you did, and an actual one.

I'm not biased, but from a scientific perspective I see some potentially un-controlled variables.
1. the candle is not sealed - no vacuum to pull hot air upward, loosening wax. Will smoke and "waxy buildup" pouring out of the candle's bottom end still occur in the presence of a vacuum?
2. Oil isn't comparable to Oxygen in movement toward flame. Again, the experiment might wish to include the candle forming a decent seal against a small air filled container with lightweight particles. My $0.02.

Well done test. Best I've seen so far. However, even doctors recognize the placebo effect. Sometimes all it takes for someone to feel better is for someone else to say, "Yes, I have treated you for your ailment." LOL It's called good bedside manner. If it doesn't actually harm anyone, then each to their own, imo. Best objective test on this I've seen so far, though. :)

Lol I did this today and it had a huge piece of wax in it and I was like if that came out of my ear how could it fit through that small hole at the bottom of the candle I don't believe they really work plus my ear feels the same as before... (its a scam to get your money ))

i would rate it as about as dangerous (not) as neti pot, another thousand year old therapy for sinus issues,,,,sitting position eliminates safety issue

i've been candling successfully for ten years, if you are suffering from inferior hearing or, have chronic ear infections, etc. this could help w/ excess wax build-up which is quite natural, but can result in issues. way better than lavage which uses h20 squirted hard, but wax and h20 are opposites so it is inefficient at best, costs $100. if you follow directions well, cant the candle slightly forward so a good seal is formed, sitting position disallows any ash to descend, write me if you want

it dosent and the gunk is candle wax

I suppose that all that is left to test is the effect of the smoke on the ear and on the earwax, but this video, among other things, has discouraged my usage of such a device.
I completely understand how scientific process works and I also know that just because you have not yet figured out how a process functions, does not mean that it doesn't. You should take into account heat in your hypothesis. In response to your placebo comment, when I first had it done in school, I did not think that it would do anything and I didn't believe in it yet I received the benefits of it. I don't care one way or the other if you do or don't believe in candling just making a point.

@gnomechild77 Therein lies the problem; You've paid to enjoy the conclusion you profess "when I first had it done in school." Far be it for me to correct you with my free YouTube channel. It's a tough realization that one has been deceived and paid for it. I wish you luck on your journey and am glad you found this video.
