Wow Acceptance and approve are not the same thing. God accepts and loves everyone, but he does not accept sin. God said that having sex with the same gender is a preverted sexual act. God doesn't approve of it. He accepts you, beacuse he loves you, but he DOESN'T accept sin. I'm not judging anyone, because I know God doesn't accept my sin. Times haven't changed. Gods word hasn't. Just because God loves you, doesn't mean he loves your sin.

I'm a gay BYU student... its rough. I feel dishonest because I feel like I have to hide my sexuality, even though I am following the honor code. Even better then my hetero roommates. Luckily I graduate in December then I can leave the housing and hopefully feel more free. But thanks for sharing your experiences. I think you'll be happy to know that there is a gay-straight alliance thing at BYU now. Its an unofficial BYU group that meets thursday evenings on campus. Its called USGA.

@mrkmay Yeah, that group was starting up when I left. How is it? It definitely is unofficial. BYU doesn't want to advertise it.

Well good for you. Your Gay, how does it feel to be normal now. Cuz that what Gay is, in this day and age. If you really are Mormon, you have a lot of repenting to do. But your not Mormon, because being Mormon means practicing what you preach, which you obviously aren’t. Actions speak louder than words. I am going to start making videos because I'm coming out of the closet I am a Heterosexual. I like women. I know; I know, how can anyone think women are good looking. But I; I just do.

Having gone to BYU I understand the judgmental pressure. But BYU is a unique campus funded mostly by member donations or tithing. Some non-members even go to school for the same reasons members do the standards. Misused expectations can lead to being judgmental. That being said ONLY SOME BYU students are judgmental pricks even homophobic, but you ask the wrong thing when you ask us to lower our expectations of one another.

I'm not gay so I can only empathize with certain parts of your story. The only thing I might suggest is that you could have lived your life in a way so that you didn't have to lie your last semester.

@GayMormonGuy As an atheist, they are referring to Leviticus or another early book from the bible. Though it doesn't say being gay is sinful, having sex with the same sex is. Though that shouldn't matter, because according to Christians the earlier laws of Moses were erased when Jesus spilled his blood. I wouldn't worry about it, I support you.

@Thatsamistery The bible isn't relevant to the 21st century. I damn sure didn't choose my orientation, just like you didn't choose yours. I wish people would use common sense and empathy when talking about this subject.
