Ruplum og Rænum (You are a Pirate - Icelandic)

I went with more figurative versions that make sense in english. For people who want to learn Icelandic, explanation below:

Translation notes:
First, most verbs ending in -um go with "we" (við), but it wasn't always int he original and didn´t always flow in English. For example, Hlæjum að hætumnum would actually be "[we] laugh at danger". Doesn't change much.
"Höldum á mið" literally means "(we) hold to the middle"- I think that means "steer straight"
"Rupla" and "ræna" seem to be synonyms, "ræna" meaning "Rob, pillage". Pirates are associated with pillaging and plundering in english- so I went with that.
"Ræningjafífið á okkur el við"- að ala (infinitive of "el") literally means "bear, feed, nourish". So it more literally means "The pillaging life is like food to us", but I think "all that I need" makes more sense in English.
In "víð drögum að hún", "hún" just means "she" (referring to a female noun or person), and one of the words for mast (sigla) is female, so I think it means the mast.
"blasa við" literally means "be quite evident"
"strönd" means beach, seashore, or coast- so it´s more "we´ll find new beaches", but that basically means new places/lands. In English, at least.
"Fley flýtur af stað" more literally translates to "the boat floats in place", in the song meaning that you anchor it and it stays there while you go exploring.
Landsýn- sýn means sight, view, vision. Basically, "land sighted", which is what "Land ho" means.
As for why they´re digging in meadows and fields- I got nothing. I can´t find another meaning for engi or tún.

Of course it is. I am Norwegian and I also see many similarities. The case here is, Icelandic and Old Norse is almost 100 percent mutually intelligible in written form. The Icelandic language has preserved our ancestral language, while ours has developed into something a bit different.
